HEAD SWIMMING TEACHER
Role
To teach groups of learners how to swim and co-ordinate teachers for all lessons
Skills
- ASA Teacher certificate
- First aid qualification would be beneficial
- Confident and effective communicator
- Sound organisational skills
- Patience
Main Duties
- Co-ordinate the Club's teaching programme.
- Ensure sufficient teachers are available for all lessons.
- Control the ratio of pupils to teachers in line with ASA guidelines.
- Ensure that emergency contact details are available for every swimmer in each group
- Ensure injury report forms are available at all times and are completed for all accidents
- Ensure that qualifications are renewed and updated as required by the ASA
- Understand the various swimming pools' EAP and NOP procedures.
- Follow and promote the ASA Child Protection policy,
- Assist the Chief Coach as necessary.
Commitment
Available to teach own group for duration of term. Assist teachers of other groups occasionally.

- To work with a group of swimmers to achieve the agreed lesson plan
- Keep an up to date register of all swimmers attending each session
- Note details of any particular needs of an individual swimmer
- Ensure that emergency contact details are available for each swimmer in the group
- Abide by all Club policies and codes
- Ensure injury report forms are completed for all accidents
- Ensure that all qualifications are renewed and updated as required by the ASA
- Understand the swimming pools' EAP and NOP procedures
- To follow and promote the ASA Child Protection policy

Preparation of lessons and attendance at each session for the duration of each term
